Try Skating and get Scotland rolling

News from the East Kilbride Skate Group

Report by Harry Rutherford.

EK skate lunch

We are not a club as such, just a group of people who enjoy skating. Some are retired, others (like me) are still working and come along when we can get time off. The main day is Thursday, but some go on Fridays as well.

On Thursday 10th December the group held a lunch at Shenanigan's, above the ice rink in East Kilbride.

It may be a bit of old news now, but on the 22nd October, we held a fund raiser for the Breast Cancer Awareness charity. The skaters had to wear something pink. We ran a tombola and sold coffee and cakes. This was a fun day and managed to raise £321, which went to the charity via the ice rink management.

Here is the group picture used for the 2010 calendar. Not everyone could be present on the day.

If you would like to join the group on Thursdays 11.30am to 1.30pm is the time, the cost is £3.30 adults/£1.65 concession at East Kilbride Ice Rink. (skate hire is free if you don't have your own!) Just go along and turn up.
